Jubilee Writing

Oakland's School had their 50th Jubilee on Labour weekend this year. I am in Year 7. In 50 years time when they have their 100th Jubilee i will be 61. In 50 years I  think theses changes would have happened at Oakland's School. I think that there will be double storey class rooms where there would be lockers outside to put our bags in. The desks would be spreed out all over the class room and 3to4 couches and the teacher would sit on a chair in front of a table and they would show the class how to do their tasks on a TV so the children don't have to go back and forwards to the teacher. I also think that our school uniform will be different it will probably be a red school top or senior tops and shorts. I can't wait to see all my old friends at the 100th jubilee Oakland's school I hope my writing is right and I can't wait to see my teacher in 50 years.

My term 4 goals

My Academic goal is : To know all my spelling words because I want to know them before 2015 

My behavior/social goal is : To  anioe people when they are working because I want them to learn a much as they need to 

My respect goal: Is to get my work done because I want my book to be full by the end of the 2014 year. 

Animals should not be used for research

WALT: write a persuasive argument

You may think that animals are living their life happily andundisturbed but some are really getting used for medical research Which is not fair because they heave a life too and people are putting our animals lives in danger. I don't think it's ok because some animals are dieing like primates,cats,dogs,rabbits,rats.mice,pigs,frogs,girbls,ginypigs,hamsters,farmed animals and birds. Also some people do animal testing for a living. Would you like to be used for testing? Well,some people think that animals don't experience pain or suffering as humans do. This idea traces back at least to the 17th century when French philopher Rene' Descartes who disagrees and argued. That animals lack the thoughts and feelings that people have Which is not fair because I think that they have a lot of feelings and that he was wrong. I think that he should have been talked to about why he was thinking that. You maybe asking you self why do animals have to be used instead of humans? We'll this will hopefully answer it. Animals are used in research when there is a need to find to find out what happens in the human. Body Which is not fair because they deserve to live it peacefully and not bothered. I think that they should use worms,slugs,leeches,snails and other things, but why I think they need to use bugs because bugs bugs are. Not our animals and not every one likes them I know that I have a a very big far of spiders and they don't have a long life like we do and animals so I think they should use bugs and not animals.Overall I think that animals should not be used for research because they have their own lives and should not be hurt and they should enjoy our pets.Also here is a video of what is happening to tigers.

The solo level the I have reached is Multistructural  because I use a lot of capita letter and full stops

I have also reached relational because I can give a good claim and a few reasons about what I am writing about.

My Next step is to reach Extended Abstract to get to that stage I will make sure I and more informantshin  and give it more grip.

My Homework challenge

For this homework challenge I had to cook a three course meal it was really fun here is my first one it was great fun doing this homework challenge I can't wait to do it again next year

My reading

This it my reading follow up for this I read about the white whale it was about Australia's favorite whale we have to read an Alcatel on him and here are some facts about them

They have a skin condition it is called Albinism. they are carnivores and they can live up to 35-50 years there size is 13 to 20 ft (4 to 6.1m ) also they weight 2,000 to 3,000 pounds ( 907 to 1,361kilograms)

My next step is to find more information

Homework challenge

For this for homework challenge we had to get 5000 points on mathletics for three weeks In a row . Maths  isn't really my thing so this challenge was difficult. But  I did it and I think the benefit was really good for me as I had to do some task on mathletics that I didn't what to do and it turn out that some of the task I could actually do really well.  And I even got the Super mathlete trophy here are some photos

WALT: write an explanation

Do you trust well known businesses well Ergobaby is one of the companies that have been effected by someone breaking the Consumer guarantees act. We have the Consumer Guarantees Act because it helps consumers by not getting ripped off. It helps the people a lot because when someone gets something faulty they  use the Consumers Guarantees act. The carrier was not fit for the process because the buckle was only going to hold a little bit of weight the baby would be in danger. For example they might fall out maybe even get hurt last but not least die. She has the right to send
it back because it was faulty. The lady has been tricked she has been lied to badly and she won't be happy about it. The Consumers Guarantees Acts  that was broken is that the Consumers have the right to expect that the good they purchase  will be safe to use. Also Consumers have the Right to expect not to be mislead or deceived (tricked or lied to) about the goods or services they are buying when you are buying anything make sure its the real one not the fake.

Home work challenge

                                              Homework challenge C6

For this challenge we had to organize a collection of old toys and clothes for charity. And deliver it to city mission.Here are some photos. 

     Theses are my toys I donated 

    This is me with my this at the city mission because I took some thing Mum said she would like to donate some of her old pots and cooking things. 

    When we got there I was really nervous but the people looked happy to see what I had to donate. I hope that someone would like to take my stuff home to play with and I think that it's nice to know that people that don't have much money can go and buy things that they need.

WALT: Write a recount

                                                     Stan Walker's concert 

Today's the day, I jumped out of  bed and said to myself  " I'm going to Stan Walker's concert". Mum told me to be quiet. I sad "NO". 

Later on that day we went out about 8:30pm to pick up Nan then went to the CBS Canterbury arena.

When we got inside and got a drink, I got nothing, well I got a water. When we sat down i saw a big crowd of people. "MUM its Moor House!" can I get a photo? Mum said  fi" YES. Come on mum, we have to get back to our seats." after we got the photo it was 9:00 PM, time for it a to began. We got two little surprises Whenua Patuwai and Cassie Henderson.

Well ,this concert was different to what I have heard. Stan Walker said that he heard of a girl that was getting bullied on the Internet so he made a song about bullies. I LOVED to night. By the time it was finished it was nearly midnight. When I got home I said to myself I have school tomorrow oh no.

When we had seen the concert and it was finished I saw the boys from  Moor house and got a photo taken again but it was worth it because I LOVE Moor house. When we did the photo they did the poat and after they gave me a hug. It was the "best day ever" but I wish it was Stan Wakker who gave me the photo.

I did the 40 hour famine it was great fun I did 40 hours of no teachnoloy  I got 11 sponsors and ended up raising 129 dollars her are some photos of me with no teachnoloy.

We did the 40 hour famine for the people of Malawi. The people over their don't have the food they need to eat this is what it looks like 

15 Million people in Malawi and 4.5 million in New Zealand and that is why I did the 40 hour famine.

Making choices

Choices are much more difficult then people think Friends,Family,Role models and media are just some of the things that influences our choices 

Family are one of the influences on the choices we make. They influence our choices because if you get asked to go some and you have a family day out planned you won't be able to go to their house. For example I get asked to go to my friends house to watch a movie but we have to go away to the Hospital to see my nana so you have to say no. Because your family has influenced you.Family are not the only influence friends are an influence too. Friends influence you because they might be smoking and they say to you HEY ! Do you want a smoke.You should say no and walk away.But if you say yes you might get caught.So u don't want to smoke like they do.If you do what they do you may get really big consequences you might even get cancer. Role models like Stan Walker might smoke would you well I wouldn't even though He is my role models but if he made a good choice like not smoking he would be a good role model then I would do what he dose from now on.So do what your role models do( if they are good ones) Media influences us because they tell us things that might not be true because they could get the wrong information and you might end up doing the wrong thing. Make sure you're listening really well because they might or might not say something true.

There are a lot more influences Family,friends,role models and meida are just some of the influences.So the choice is yours

I saw the star wars space ship it was shmazing. I saw Darth vader, Jedi's, Luke sky walker and a little green man Yoda MAN it was so cool. I said do you have a place to stay for me why yes he said the 75 star hotal great. Yoda said and its free we have sky TV and a chocolate fountain and a giant swimming pool good night Yoda I said. The next morning I did so much but I  had to go home GOOD BYE STAR WARS

City 2 Surf

                          Homework Challenge
                                    E7- City 2 


On Sunday the 23rd March I took part in the city2surf, I did it with my friend  Grace and our mums.  We did the 6km race I have never done it before.  My little brother walked with my Nana and Grandad.    I wanted to make sure that we finished before them.

This is me and Grace at the start 

It was fun walking with all the other people, One man was dressed in a dinosaur outfit which made Grace and I laugh.  We also saw some army men running with heavy weights on them.      There was a drink station at half way, so I grabbed a water.   During the race I saw Caitlyn and Lauren we all ran the last 1km together and finished all together.

I really enjoyed the city2surf but next year I would like to do the 14km and run it
